What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in order to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and support children with parents in the regular armed forces. The premium is provided to enable these pupils to be supported to reach their potential. We have high aspirations and ambitions for our children and we believe that no child should be left behind. We strongly believe that it is an individual’s passion and thirst for knowledge, and their dedication and commitment to learning that make the difference between success and failure, and we are determined in line with our mission statement of Learning, Loving and Living with Jesus to ensure that all our children are given every chance to realise their full potential.
The Pupil Premium provides funding for pupils:
- Who have been in receipt of free school meals at any point in the past 6 years
- Who are adopted from care under the Adoption and Children Act 2002 1 or who have left care under a Special Guardianship or Residence Order
- For children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces, or whose parent or guardian is in receipt of a pension from the Ministry of Defence
Schools are held accountable for the spending of these monies. Inskip St Peter’s is committed to providing effective resources and ensuring vital support is in place for our disadvantaged students to improve their academic outcomes. Our key objective in utilising the Pupil Premium Grant is to close the attainment and progress gap between eligible pupils and their peers.
